When
we talk about blogging, besides content and SEO, Blog looks and customization
of our blog plays an important role in building and holding visitors in your
blog. If we would give more professional and customized look to our blog,
definitely we are able to direct more traffic to our blog. We have already
discussed that blogger is a free platform which allows us full customizations
which we would not get in free hosted Wordpress.com. You have surely visited
many professional blogs which posses customized 4 column footer. 4 column
footer is nothing but breaking of a single gadget layout in 4 equal halves. In
this tutorial you don’t have to play with long HTML codes instead this is the
simplest tutorial you ever had.
(1) Go to ‘Template’ and then
‘Backup/Restore’
(2) Click on ‘Download full
template’.
Creating
4 column footer in blogger.
(1) Go to Blogger and sign in there.
(2) Click on ‘Template’ and then ‘edit
HTML’.
(3) Now click inside code and press
‘ctrl+f’, Type ‘<footer>’ inside search box and hit enter.
(4) Now below ‘<footer>’ find ‘<macro:param
default='2' name='num'/>’.
(5) Replace the above code with ‘<macro:param
default='2' name='num' value='4'/>’.
(6) Save template and you are done.
(7) Just go to ‘Layout’ and reload
the page, you will see 4 ‘Add Gadget’ columns in your footer.
(8) Add different gadgets what you
want. Scroll below and take a look of mine.
NOTE- If you find any error message, just restore your previous template which you have downloaded.
