There are many reasons for quitting Blogger and moving to Wordpress which I
have stated in my previous article.The most important reason for quitting blogger is that it’s completely free and doesn’t have any rental options, by this I just want to make you understand that it can delete your blog anytime if you don’t follow their guidelines even if unknowingly as you are not paying a single penny for that whereas Wordpress has different paid options and many more reasons to move. I am not saying you to quit blogger but giving you the most common reason for quitting. We are here to discuss on “How to import your Blogger posts and comments to Wordpress using blogger export file?” and we all know that importing doesn’t deletes your previous blog posts but only copies them to your new Wordpress blog. You can run one or both blogs with same posts, which depends on your discretion.
You can also import your post directly using "Authorization" method which i have stated in my previous article.
NOTE- You can treat your blogger export file as a backup as it can also be used to import posts which you have deleted after creating export file.
First of all we have to create “Blogger export file” so that we can upload it in Wordpress to import our posts.
Creating a Blogger Export File.
(1)
Sign in to your Blogger Account.
(2)
Go to your blog’s dashboard for whom you want to create
an export file.
(3)
Go to “Settings” and then “other”.
(4)
Click on “Export Blog” under “Blog Tools”.
(5)
Lastly click on “Download Blog” and save it.
You have successfully created your Blogger Export File.
Uploading Blogger Export File to Wordpress, in order to import your Blogger Posts.
(1)
Sign in to your Wordpress account.
(2)
Go to “My Blogs” and select “Blog Admin” under the blog
in which you want to import your Blogger posts.
(3)
Then Go to “Tools” and select “Import”.
(4)
Select your blogging platform as Blogger.
(5)
Now browse your “Blogger Export File” which we have
created earlier.
(6)
Now click on “Upload and import” button.
(7)
You will get a message saying “Your file uploaded
successfully & we’ll begin processing your import right away”.
(8)
That’s it; you have successfully imported your Blogger
posts. Go to “Posts” and check them right away.
