5 Best Ways to Make Money by Blogging

This is my first post under the tag “Make Money”. I am not saying everyone, but most of us blogs for money but very few of us made it to the heights. That’s right, making money out of a blog sounds very easy and interesting, and why one should not blog if it can earn only by sitting at home but trust me it’s not an easy job, a lot of hard work goes into that. This article is not about why one should blog but to give them the best ways to monetize their blog if they acquired some good number of visitors to their blog. I experimented a lot on this with my other blogs. You can see that this blog doesn’t contain any ad units only because it’s a new blog and I don’t think it’s the right time to place ads.

Let’s see what are the different best ways to earn money by blogging?

(1)   Advertisement- Advertisements are the first and foremost choice of every blogger as they are easy to use and when once they are on your site, they automatically generate income according to your blog traffic. There are a lot companies in this advertising world which can fulfill your needs. Ad units are available in various sizes so that you can utilize each and every corner of your blog, not only that they provide you with different types of ads also such as inline, banner, popup, pop under, text and much more. Adsense by Google ranks no 1 followed by many which you can trust. There is also a huge list of scam companies, getting inside them is easy but at the end, you get nothing. So, try getting inside reliable ones. If you will not get approved by Google Adsense, try other ones such as chitika, Tribal fusion etc.

(2)   Affiliate Programs- After Advertisements, Affiliate Programs owns the second position in monetizing a blog effectively. Affiliate Marketing is regarded as an art. In this way of earning, a blogger earns some percentage of sale only, if a visitor to his blog purchases a product through his link according to the company TOS. Affiliate marketing contributes a good percentage in bloggers total revenue but it’s not an easy task, there are some points which are to be kept in mind before opting for Affiliate Marketing. First and the foremost, opt this way only if you are able to build your audience because if more number of people visits your blog there will be greater probability that some of them might got interested in buying products sold under your blog. Second and the most important thing which have to be kept in mind is ‘selection of products’. Select products which your readers can connect with your blog and articles, if you would select products which your readers can’t connect with you and your blog, they will just ignore them. For Ex- if I blogs about blogging and SEO, and sell books related to cooking, who will buy them? Instead of this if I would sell books related to blogging and SEO, many of them got interested in those. That’s what I tried to make you understand. There are a huge list of companies which offers Affiliate Marketing, out of which the most famous are Amazon, EBay etc

(3)   Private Sponsorship- Private Sponsorship owns the third position which would be very helpful in monetizing a blog. Unlike the other two ways which are mentioned above, Private sponsorship can’t be opted by every blogger as I said earlier the most important thing to do before going for this method is to build your audience and make your blog a reputable one in this blogosphere. Once you stand at par with the condition mentioned in previous line, either you may be approached by different companies or you have to find them and convince them that you want private sponsorship as your blog can boost the selling of their products. For this, your blog must be related to their products and once they accept you as a sponsor, you would earn some good amount which would enhance your blog revenue a lot.

(4)   Direct Sales- The words ‘Direct sales’ automatically clears your conception about what I am going to write. In this way of earning through blogging, you sell your products or services directly to your visitors. When you go through the monthly income report of top bloggers, you would be surprised to see that they have generated the maximum percentage of their revenue through direct sales. The one and only requirement of starting direct sales in your blog is the reputation of your blog and if you are succeeded in making your blog a reputational one, definitely your blog owns a good amount of traffic also. Ex- Suppose, a blogger blogs about SEO, he may sell his SEO services or a cooking blog may sell his cookery books directly to his visitors having 100% profit.

(5)   Consulting- Last but not the least ‘Consulting’ is another one of the important and popular way which many bloggers opt for enhancing their blog revenue. It is similar to the above mentioned ‘Direct Sales’. In direct sales, we sell our owned products and services but ‘Consulting’ refers to advising. In this way of earning, a blogger earns by charging an amount from his visitors if they want advises or suggestions. If you blogs about something, definitely you have good knowledge of the subject in which your blog deals. Ex- if someone blogs about cars and a visitor to his blog wants his advice on a topic related to cars. Then he consults blog owner for his advice or suggestions, for which blog owner charges a consulting fee.
